how it works

The long version, for anyone who wants it.

Everything behind the plans: how we keep your server yours, how you can check us, and what our own panel does that resold software cannot.

the gap

Most hosting makes you pick a side.

Shared hosts run the server for you, and it works until a neighbor on the same machine gets popular. The lag arrives on their schedule, and no support ticket can move you off the box. A raw VPS fixes the isolation and hands you everything else, so patching, monitoring, and 2 a.m. restarts become your hobby.

gummies.cloud sits in the space between. Every server runs in its own virtual machine (KVM) with resources that belong to it alone, and we operate it for you. If you ever want the keys, they're yours.

the guarantee

You get what you pay for.

Paying for 8GB and still lagging is the oldest story in game hosting. It happens because hosts sell the same hardware to more people than it holds, and the fine print lets them. Every gummies.cloud plan comes with RAM and CPU dedicated to your server, and we never oversell either one.

Live numbers

A public page will show how much of every machine we've sold against what's physically installed, pulled straight from the fleet. Ask your current host for that page.

Check us yourself

Every welcome email includes a short guide for verifying your own server, plus a published spec of what counts as a failure, how to test for one, and the conditions a result has to meet. The checks take minutes, and you can run them any month you like.

A month on us

If we confirm a Resource Guarantee Failure, you receive a service credit equal to 100% of that month’s hosting fee. On this design it should never happen, which is exactly why we can afford to promise it.

every new server starts with a seven-day audit period · a confirmed Resource Guarantee Failure means 100% of that month’s hosting fee credited

the ladder

Start small and managed. Grow into anything.

Plans start fully managed, so you never touch a terminal unless you want to. When your project outgrows that, the same machine takes more, and the step up happens in place, on the hardware you already have.

Managed

We run the whole thing, from updates to restarts, and you manage your game from the panel. Most servers live happily here forever.

Co-managed

arriving after launch

We keep the machine healthy while you install what you want, run your own tools, and tinker as deep as you like. If you break your game, we help you put it back. It needs the most new work of the three, so expect it around Q4 2026, possibly early 2027.

Full control

The entire virtual machine becomes yours, root and all. Run the game, a bot, a web map, a store, or a second game beside it. At this rung the uptime is yours to own too, which is the honest price of the keys.

all three run on the same machine you started with · moving up never means moving out

the story

Four years of gummysnacks and one long detour.

gummysnacks is the control panel we've been building in-house since 2022. Our hosting ran on a custom Pterodactyl fork while it sat on the shelf, and every change we wanted meant carrying patches against someone else's codebase. Sour Strawberry is gummysnacks brought up to date and finally put to work. The panel contains exactly what our hosting needs, and new features land the week we want them.

We also built Observe, an anti-abuse platform for game servers, currently in open beta on Minecraft. Running our own panel means hosting and Observe can integrate directly, and the same goes for whatever Floatpoint builds next.

the snacks

What owning the panel buys you.

gummysnacks is ours from the cloud panel down to the daemon on your VM, and Sour Strawberry puts that to work with features you won't find on hosts running someone else's software. Here’s what we’re building and how each feature fits.

Meltdown

break-glass failsafearriving by the next demo

A failsafe for the worst-case scenario. If Meltdown detects that our cloud control panel is down, your VM spins up a stripped-down gamepanel served locally, so you keep full control of your game server even during one of our web outages. No more waiting on us to come back online to manage what's yours.

Zig-Zag

daemon-to-daemon proxyarriving with full release, possibly aftermanaged exclusive

Zig-Zag changes how your nodes talk to each other. Two nodes on the same box get a LAN built between them for faster networking. Nodes on separate machines can form their own private network and talk over the internet through a secure tunnel. Either way, actions like Move To stop routing through the cloud relay, whether that's files, servers on the VM, and more.

Airbag

out-of-memory protectionon the way

Airbag is optional and stays off until you enable it. Choose a 2 GB or 4 GB emergency-RAM plan; the panel shows that plan’s hourly price before you turn it on. Once enabled, Airbag watches VM-level memory pressure and can hotplug your chosen reserve into the running server with no restart when the box is at risk.

Airbag draws from a shared pool and bills at the selected plan’s rate only while the emergency RAM is deployed. It protects the VM as a whole rather than making a heap-capped game run faster, and it is a best-effort cushion while you investigate a spike or choose a permanent upgrade.
